The Oak sits on a corner, and has indoor and outdoor dining. It's a local, family friendly place. We booked a table for 7 and were given indoor seating, to allow the kids to have a safe space to hang out. The staff were friendly, and quite knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The music was mellow, lending itself to a promising evening dinner. We ordered an excellent Papa Figos, red from Portugal to go with the menu. We ordered:
Starters:
Tapenade Bruschetta
Mushroom Arancini
Crab & Prawn Croquettes
Octopus Salad Tapas
(Super tasty, well presented, and perfect portions)
Mains:
Pizza - Basilico, Diavola, Zucchini & Contadina
Spaghetti with Beef Ragu
Steak Tagliata
(Super tasty, well presented, and perfect portions)
Dessert:
3 scoops of various ice creams
Sticky Toffee Pudding
Profiteroles
(Ab Fab. perfect way to end the meal)
The meals were all done using fresh ingredients, light on the oil, and perfectly seasoned, and even though we were full, we did not feel that it was very rich cuisine.
Go check it out if you are in the area.
We had a really nice dinner at The Oak W12. The staff is really welcoming and the food is great. To start we had the summer cocktail (gin/ginger ale/lime/mint), brilliant! Then the salmon croquettes and the Aubergine paté, I highly recommend the last one, it was amazing. As a main, we had the duck ragu pasta, not the most summery meal but yummi! If you are living nearby, you should definitely try this place, great quality for the price! See you there!
Absolutely decadent meal. Millie our sever was a treat! She was present when you needed her and helpful with selection. Seb another delightful host was attentive and welcoming. Would 10/10 recommend to locals or visitors. We started with the veggie starter to share and had the sea bass and a margarita pizza. Really yum.
